Friday March 2nd, me and a few 100 other people waited online outside Virgin Mega Store in Times Square to get to meet Aerosmith! I arrived at 5:00am and stood outside in the snow for 4 hours until they opened the door and let us in. I was 25th in line so I was guaranteed a spot to meet the band.I thought this couldn’t get any cooler, I was way wrong!
I sat by the phone all day waiting to call in for my chance to win! The radio station was giving everyone the chance to win, the greatest prize there could ever be, a private party with Aerosmith at WWF NY, with a guest. I called when the DJ announced it, and I WON! I was caller 100, this totally blew my mind, and I couldn’t even begin to comprehend what was actually going to happen. I was actually going to get to hang out with the guys of Aerosmith! How cool is that?
The next day I recived a phone call saying the party was canceled do to bad weather, I was pissed off and my world came crashing down. The message was that I would recive something of equal value, what could be of equal value? But all turned out well, and the party was back on a few days later!
The day came for my trip to NYC to meet the rock Gods Aerosmith! I left school early, Aerosmith comes 1st,and hoped on the train to New York Penn Station. My heart is racing and I can’t belive in just a few hours I’ll be meeting Aerosmith! Does life get any better? So we go to WWF NY a little early and we are the 1st ones there and still getting anxious. Finally they take us back into a little room behind the resturant, where there are 2 couches, Just Push Play playing on the big speakers, and a HUGE banner with the Robot girl on it.
The radio guy announces “Ladies and Gentlemen give it up for AEROSMITH!” Everyone in the room, which is about 40 people, go nuts as the dream is finally kicking in. Joe was at the front of the line w/ a small cigar in his mouth, and with the cane. We all stopped clapping, and Steven shouts out at us “I can’t hear you!” Which really can get anyone started.
The band was suppose to be on a platform, for each person and their guest to go meet them one at atime. Steven said, “What am I Santa Clause, we belong down there with the fans.”
Even better if you ask me, the band was signing everything, taking pictures with everyone, and just talking! Steven asked Brian, my guest that I brought, “Do you like the new album”. Just those few words can get anyone pumped. I had a banner I brought with me signed by everyone, and Brian had his 9 Lives Jersey signed while he was wearing it!Tom asked some girl, if he could sign her shirt after he signed Brians, Steven signed some girls’ forehead, Joe and Joey hung out standing next to each other, commenting on the album, brad was swarmed with people just signing autographs and answering all kinds of questions. Mine was “When you guys going to be on tour?” his reply“Not soon enough!”
The band got back up on the platform to take the group shots with everyone, and most of the people were sitting down on the floor while the band sat on the couch. Once Brian and I got up there, the band stood up for the picture. Steven said “Joe was afraid you were going to sit on his lap.” So my group picture was the 1st to have the guys stand up.
The guys only stuck around for a ½ hour before they went to the Virgin Mega Store signing, which was across the street, and I had 2 passes to that to! Steven told us "You don’t stop do you?", when we showed him the passes. So we were one of the last on line to meet Aero at Virgin Mega, but we didn’t care. We just did something NONE of them did, we hung out with AEROSMITH!
That is defiantly a day I will not forget, and I’ve got the pictures to always remind me! Thank you GUYS!
