Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer answered your questions --

Boston Globe, MA
November 30, 2007

-- On music, fast cars, and what's up next for the band.
You can find the full chat transcript below:

Boston_com: Hi everyone, this is Boston.com letting you know that Joey Kramer is running a little late. He should be here shortly, so please stay tuned for any updates.

Joey_Kramer: Hello everyone. Sorry I'm late but I'm happy to be here with you all so lets get rollin'.

AEROFAN001__Guest_: Joey we hear that recording for the 1st album is underway how does it feel this time around

Joey_Kramer: Yes - we're re-recording Mama kin, Make It, Dream On, and Movin' Out because our record company lost the masters...can't wait for you to hear it. Old School Returns!

F_I_N_E___Guest_: When can we expect the new Aerosmith album to come out? Do you guys have some great material up your sleeves?

Joey_Kramer: we hope for a new album by late next fall.

F_I_N_E___Guest_: What's your favorite song that you are working on for the new album?

Joey_Kramer: It's a song called "Innocent Man."

Luciana__Guest_: Hi! I'm from Brazil, and I was at the concert this year in Sao Paulo. It was the best day of my life!! I was wondering if the band thinks about touring around the globe again any time soon. THANKS!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Joey_Kramer: Not until the end of next year. Thanks and we love you all too!

innersight__Guest_: what inspires you?

Joey_Kramer: what inspires me is love, compassion and fast cars.

rockface__Guest_: Hi Joey. Do you think that time has come for the band so as to write a song all together again? Rockface from Greece

Joey_Kramer: Yes, I think that time is long over-due. You may see that on the next record.

bostongirl__Guest_: what about tomorrow night are you most looking forward to?

Joey_Kramer: I'm most looking forward to mixing it up socially with all the local bands. Can't wait!

bostongirl__Guest_: are you excited to get involved with Boston's local music scene?

Joey_Kramer: Absolutely!!! It's also long over-due.

jb__Guest_: Do you remember living on the top floor of 97 Lake Ave in Newton in 1971/2? I knew you then. 35 years later - you are amazing !

Joey_Kramer: Oh yeah! I definately remember living there.

mollysue56__Guest_: I'm just wondering what you think of the local music scene here in boston?? Do you like it?

Joey_Kramer: Yeah, I love it.

JRC23__Guest_: How do you feel being named honorary chairman of the BMAs?

Joey_Kramer: I think "honorary" pretty much describes that. It's an honor to play the small role that I'm playing in this year's BMA's and I'm grateful to do it.

Vivalaselvis__Guest_: What was your favoite club to play back in the day?

Joey_Kramer: Alex Cooley's Electric Ballroom in Atlanta, GA. It was the best scene back in the 70's.

Brendan__Guest_: Joey - What new music, Boston and/or National, are bands that have caught your ears & eyes?

Joey_Kramer: Not that these are all that new but No Doubt, Green Day, Foo Fighters - and a lot a big reason has to do with the drummers in the band.

Lisa__Guest_: Congratulations on being named honorary chairperson! Sat next to you at lunch yesterday and didn't want to bug you (it must be a drag at times) so am glad to be able to offer my congrats in this more civilized and polite way. When you look back at your career successes, it must be very gratifying to "bring it back home" to Boston at the BMAs?

Joey_Kramer: yeah, for sure! And thank you for respecting my privacy.

jamee__Guest_: Joey, What is Aerosmith planning as far as new albums and upcoming tours? Are there any plans on another "blues" album like Honkin on Bobo?

Joey_Kramer: New album - late fall...and tour to follow!

eddie_d_2__Guest_: Who is producing the new record?

Joey_Kramer: No one person - there's going to be multiple producers.

Aerofemme__Guest_: How did you like being in Europe again, for the first time in a long while? Do you reckon you'll do it again some day? Greetings from Holland

Joey_Kramer: Europe was fantastic - it was a great trip. And YES, we will definately be back!

jamee__Guest_: speaking of fast cars, which one is your current favorite... I met you when you had the Gallardo spyder, anything "better" in the stable now?

Joey_Kramer: 430 Spyder and an Audi R8.

Junior_KG__Guest_: Is it true that Extreme is reuniting at the BMAs and will perform live?

Joey_Kramer: Yes that is absolutely true and I'm looking forward to it!!!

Last_Child__Guest_: When you lived on Comm Ave way back what local clubs did you play? What was your favorite?

Joey_Kramer: We played clubs that no longer exist. The Rat and Kkk-Katy's.

Aerosmith_Rules__Guest_: Hey Joey, what made you decide to participate in this years boston music awards?

Joey_Kramer: I wanted to get closer to the local scene.

aprjk__Guest_: What is your favorite car?

Joey_Kramer: Lotus Exige-s

WalkThisWay__Guest_: is this new album more like 9 Lives, Pump or Rocks? Because you know we all want Rocks.

Joey_Kramer: Gonna be like all of those records wrapped into one.

Last_Child__Guest_: What do you think of the Big Dig, isn't it the worst? THink you'll mention it on the new album?

Joey_Kramer: hahaha - dont' get caught in the tunnel.

Aeroshells__Guest_: Aerosmith has been rocking for 30+ years now. Bands these days seem to come and go. Why do you think that is?

Joey_Kramer: We do it because we love to rock...age or the amount of years has nothing to do with it.

Last_Child__Guest_: Why do you think Aerosmith is so big in Japan? When did u first tour there?

Joey_Kramer: For the same reason we're big in other places...the Japanese love the music. We first toured Japan in 1976.

Aerosmith_Rules__Guest_: What's your favorite Aerosmith song???

Joey_Kramer: Lord of the Thighs - off the second record.

amanda126__Guest_: Have you worked with Johnny A before?

Joey_Kramer: Yes, I have. We're old friends. He's a great guitar player.

TeriTroub__Guest_: Is anyone else from Aerosmith comming to the show tomorrow???

Joey_Kramer: Tom Hamilton will be there.

luisjp__Guest_: Joey, you've been to Brazil this year, and I'd like to know if you enjoyed being here, and if you want to come again.

Joey_Kramer: Loved being thre and will definately come back.

JayO__Guest_: Will Aerosmith ever take another hack at something like Mama Kin's again? I saw a few great shows there and there definitely aren't enough places like that in Boston.

Joey_Kramer: yeah, I think we would. Glad you liked it there! Thanks!

Jamie20010__Guest_: As far as the Boston Music Awards go - who or what band are you excited to see/meet? Is it possible for you to get star struck?

Joey_Kramer: Yes, it's possible to get star struck. I'm looking forward to seeing James Montgomery, Fahrenheit and really looking forward to seeing Extreme.

jimbo__Guest_: Hi Joey - Where did you get the white drum harware on your Kit??

Joey_Kramer: the company makes it for me special.

jjj__Guest_: being from NY but living in Boston......Yankees or Sox?

Joey_Kramer: Sox!

Vivalaselvis__Guest_: Which is you all time favorite band ( besides Aerosmith)

Joey_Kramer: One of them is Tower of Power and also Van Halen.

amanda126__Guest_: What musicians have you worked with in the Boston area? And who would you like to collaborate with?

Joey_Kramer: We've worked with David Hull and also James Montgomery.

aerocarol__Guest_: How is the shoulder feeling? Have you fully recovered from the shoulder surgery?

Joey_Kramer: Yeah, I've completely recovered and it's 100% back to normal...thanks for asking!

Joey_Kramer: Hey everyone - thanks so much for hanging with me. Thanks for all your questions and I'll see you at the BMA's!!! See ya!

Joey Kramer Mentioned in Sebastian Bach Interview

Popeater, NY
November 28, 2007

Sebastian Bach Embraces the Three R's: Rock, Rap and Reality TV

Any plans for some collaborations with rappers?

I just recorded DMC's new single, which is 'Black Betty,' by Ram Jam, from the '70s [starts singing]. He's got Mick Mars, from Motley Crue, on guitar, and Joey Kramer, from Aerosmith, on drums. And it's a rap-rock song. And he said Nikki Sixx is going to be in the video for it, too. So I did the collaboration and it was really cool. I also talked very, very seriously about collaborating with Warren G., he's my friend. Also, Too $hort, we talked about it. And Redman -- I talked to all those guys about working together.

How cool is it for you as an artist getting to work with all these different people like DMC?

I'm honored to follow in the footsteps of 'Walk This Way,' which is one of the greatest videos and the first rap-rock song ever....

Extreme excitement over BMA rock reunion

Boston Herald, MA
November 27, 2007

Twenty years ago, Extreme was named Outstanding Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band at the Boston Music Awards.

And this weekend, the local rockers - except for drummer-turned-manager Paul Geary - will reunite and return to their rock ’n’ roll roots.

On Saturday, Nuno Bettencourt, Gary Cherone, Pat Badger and new sticksman Kevin Figueiredo will take the stage at the Orpheum to blow the roof off of the BMAs - the first step to a 2008 world reunion tour and new album.

“We weren’t gonna do it until we had a record out,” said the raspy-voiced Bettencourt from his home studio in Los Angeles. “But (Aerosmith drummer and the BMAs honorary chairman) Joey Kramer reached out to us. He wanted to make the BMAs special like they used to be, so we figured why not?”

Concert Review - Joe Perry & Tab The Band

PiercingMetal.com
By: Ken Pierce

Venue: The Annex, New York, NY - October 28, 2007

In celebration of Activision’s launch of “Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock” – Aerosmith’s lead guitarist extraordinaire would be in New York City to help promote the game and sign some autographs for fans who attended the GameStop gala celebration. During the affair Perry would also serve as a judge during a fan “Guitar Hero” competition and even speak to aspiring guitar heroes in the making. Later that evening he would take part in a very special industry only showcase of music with Tab The Band at The Annex. This club is a new hot spot for Rock & Roll down on the Lower East Side and it offers a decent sized main floor and bar with a stage where bands can jam out and let the audience get up nice and close. This intimate setting made knowing about Perry’s jamming on a couple of numbers with this band a lot more exciting. For the night's festivities they had also set up a couple of "Guitar Hero" stations where the folks mingling and mixing would be able to showoff their skills and compete against each other. The cool night air in NYC was far from present inside the club tonight and if anything it got many degrees hotter as the band went on. For those who are unaware, Tab The Band is comprised of two of Joe Perry’s own sons. We have Tony Perry on guitars, and Adrian Perry on vocals and bass while Ben Tileston is the groups friend and drummer. They are a hard rocking outfit who delivers an old school sound to a world that sorely needs this type of vibe once again. As the band was getting ready to perform I noticed that everywhere around the stage were Joe’s guitars and this meant very clearly that he would be playing more than only a couple of songs. I’ve never been happier to be right in recent memory than tonight.

The band came out right on schedule and Joe was upfront and acting as the emcee for them as well. He said how excited he was to be here for the event and to jam with his boys who he always heard practicing and they hoped that we would all enjoy ourselves. It got started right away with “Roadrunner” – a classic Bo Diddley track that Aerosmith delivered on their “Honkin’ On Bobo” album a couple of years ago and the guys in the band showed right away that they had chops. Adrian also sang and offered a lot of power to the backing vocals when Dad was handling the main vocal parts during the set. Joe stopped between songs to introduce numbers and also to just chit chat to the crowd about a particular point in time when a song was coming up. It certainly added a lot of personality to the gig and made it seem like this was mostly about the fun that Rock & Roll is designed to deliver. The set that they did was rich with history and included classic Blues numbers, a couple of covers such as “Helter Skelter” and “Red House” (Beatles and Jimi Hendrix respectively) and even a healthy dose of Aerosmith and his own solo music. There was some Tab music played as well and we got treated to “Secretary’s Day”, a song that Adrian said was inspired by his own girlfriend who is not a secretary. The band was very strong on candor to say the least and did not seem uncomfortable by performing with their legendary father. During the night which featured some fourteen songs Perry swapped guitars quite often and this definitely had the musicians in the audience drooling as well since they were some beautiful axes. One of them was clear while yet another had a painting of his wife on its body. He told the audience that it was her and that she was about the room someplace making sure the sound was good tonight. I had trouble picking out any one particular highlight since its spontaneity and relaxed manner of delivery made the whole event special. Perry was amusing for the most part and when he spoke of “Bright Night Flight” he discussed his love of some of what went on in Punk music and when they did the song everyone seemed off on their own tangent as opposed to together. When they all stopped Adrian posed the question that how about they all do the song differently to Joe’s deadpan answer of “we are Adrian, now lets do it together”. They closed with the original version of “Let The Music Do The Talkin’” from Joe’s solo album but you just knew an encore was coming up after a moment’s breather. Joe and the guys quickly returned and hit us with a smoking rendition of “Shakin’ My Cage”, the opening number from Perry’s 2005 self-titled solo recording. It was great to be able to take part in this tonight and get to bring some photos and words about it to a larger audience as well. I see big things for the guys in Tab and recommend that if you are fans of what Joe gets to do in Aerosmith and as a solo artist then you should give his boys a serious listen. Adrian has a powerful voice and can really deliver in the live sense while playing a solid bass. Tony is a really good guitar player who shows he was paying attention when Dad was speaking while drummer Ben is very simply a slamming dude back there. Hopefully they will be playing around here again so more of their music can be absorbed....

Nominations invited for nation's highest civilian honor

News & Observer, NC
November 20, 2007

RALEIGH - Gov. Mike Easley is asking North Carolinians to submit nominations for “Above & Beyond Citizen Honors,” a national award to recognize extraordinary actions by regular citizens on behalf of others. The nationwide search and selection process is being coordinated by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, which is made up of the 109 living Medal of Honor recipients.

“For the first time ever, those who have won the nation’s highest military award, the Medal of Honor, will recognize civilians who have shown they also value service over self,” Easley said. “There are many North Carolinians who have demonstrated the kind of integrity, sacrifice and courage that this award will recognize.”

To be considered for this rare civilian honor, nominees must have made a difference in the lives of others through a singular act of extraordinary courage or in a series of extraordinary acts that demonstrate a willingness to sacrifice for others. In all cases, the actions being honored must epitomize the concept of “service before self” and must be performed “above and beyond” one's professional or vocational area of responsibility or conduct. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 16.

The Congressional Medal of Honor Society will select 50 finalists to represent their states at the Medal of Honor Day ceremony March 25. From these 50 Americans, the Society will announce three Above & Beyond Citizen Honors recipients.

The honorary chairs of the award ceremony are former presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush, and former secretary of state Gen. Colin L. Powell, U.S. Army (Ret.). NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams will serve as host, and featured guests include country music star Toby Keith, Joe Perry of Aerosmith, and actors Harvey Keitel and Gary Sinise. The Above & Beyond ceremony will be taped for national broadcast on March 30 on MSNBC and internationally on the American Forces Network, where it can be seen by all armed service members and their families stationed overseas including every ship in the Navy.

Applications can be submitted and more information is available at the Above & Beyond Web site: www.aboveandbeyond365.com.

History of the BMAs:
Now regarded as one of the most prestigious annual events in Boston, the Boston Music Awards were established in 1987 by founder, Candace Avery, in order to pay tribute to the city’s finest performers. Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, the BMA’s are the longest running regional music awards show in the country. The first ever ceremony was a tremendous success as it debuted with local pop stars, New Kids On The Block, headlining the sold out show. After 16 years of leadership under Candace Avery, the Boston Music Awards switched hands and in 2003, when Chip Rives purchased the company. The BMA’s changed locations under this new leadership, and the show was moved from the Wang Theatre to the Avalon. In 2007, the location changed once again the Orpheum Theatre.

Comprised of 25+ categories of awards, the BMA’s provide an equal opportunity for both major label and independent artists. Since this awards ceremony is designed to honor artists from a very specific market, there are generalized categories that often house a very eclectic group of nominees. Genre specific categories are intended to represent the wide range of music befitting to the limitation of genre labeling. Artists are nominated by an 80+ person committee comprised of local radio personality, press, artist managers, labels, talent buyers, publicists and agents. Winners are determined by an academy vote comprised of 450 members combined with a public vote.

The BMA’s are a very special event because it was once said that if a band could get a “buzz” happening in Boston, then they would be able to achieve national success. This theory has shown to be true as there have been many Boston bands that have had extremely successful musical careers. Such bands as Aerosmith, who won the very first award for Outstanding Rock Band at the BMA’s in 1987 and consecutively won the same award through 1993, have earned enormous national success. Other award winners from past BMA’s include: The Pixies, The Dresden Dolls, Pat Metheny, Howie Day, Godsmack, Mission of Burma, Staind, Dropkick Murphys, American Hi-Fi, Carly Simon, Boston, and Chick Corea. Additionally, other BMA nominees with ties to Boston that have achieved international recognition include: James Taylor, Phish, Donna Summer, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Paula Cole, The Explosion, Converge, and The Click Five.

Furthermore, Boston is home to two well-known musical instrument manufacturers, Zildjian Symbols and First Act Guitars, both of which are responsible for worldwide distribution of their products. The city is also home to the largest and most successful independent record store in the country, Newbury Comics. What started as a small location on Newbury Street that strictly sold comics and vinyl records, has turned into a chain with twenty-seven retail locations throughout the New England area. The company has been going strong for over 25 years and is still owned and operated by its original founders.

The Boston Music Awards are proud to celebrate and showcase such a talented community of musicians and are grateful for all of the hard work and time that all of the artists, presenters, and music fans put into it. Without their help, the BMAs would not be possible.

Jimmy Page Wins Top Gong in Classic Rock Awards

HeavyMetalMusic.biz
November 13, 2007

The third Classic Rock Awards was held last week in London. The Oscar’s of Rock attracts rock legends from around the world to celebrate the best of classic rock for 2007.

The star of the show was Jimmy Page (with a band aid on his infamous pinky), who was given the prestigious Living Legend Award. Jimmy’s finger is the reason, of course, for the recent postponement of the Led Zeppelin Reunion Concert.

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler presented him with a ’54 Les Paul Goldtop, with personal video messages from Les Paul, Robert Plant and Joe Perry. Backstage the guitar was signed by none other than Status Quo, Tony Iommi, Scott Ian from Anthrax and Alice Cooper, to name a few. It was then donated to Child Line to raise funds for the charity.

Rush received band of the year for their return to form, with their 2007 album, Snakes and Arrows. The Classic Album went to Meat Loaf for Bat Out of Hell, a man who isn’t doing so well at the moment, cancelling his European Tour due to illness.

The Best New Band Award went to southern rockers Black Stone Cherry. Album of the Year to the brilliant Porcupine Tree, proving yet again that they are the natural successors of Pink Floyd.

Come back of the Year went to Heaven and Hell, who are of course Black Sabbath, without Ozzy Osbourne, with the award for Metal Guru going to Tony Iommi.

Thanks to Classic Rock Magazine for continuing to keep the flame alive!

Technical: Joey Kramer featured in this month's Boston Magazine

Aero Force One
November 9, 2007

Dude Looks Like a Skater

Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer lays down a different beat with a foray into Newbury Street retail.

In retail, as in life, it’s all about who you know. John Nichols, owner of Norwell skate-gear depot Technical, knows Jesse Kramer, the skateboard-loving son of Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer. So when Nichols decided to open a shop in Boston, he found a ready partner in the elder Kramer.

A bit of a departure from its somewhat more genteel neighbors on Newbury, the new Technical is chock-a-block with skateboards, sneakers, and T-shirts, and decorated with graffitilike paint drippings and mannequin torsos. On a recent day off from Aerosmith’s world tour, Kramer took some time to shoot the breeze with Boston.

So, do you skate? Um, not really. I’m just afraid to break my thumbs and my wrists, you know? Then I’d be in a fine how-do-you-do.

How’d you get involved in Technical? I met John four or five years back, after he started the store in Norwell. The thing that caught my eye was the passion he had about the skateboard culture. He was definitely a quality-before-quantity guy.

The South Shore store is kind of a hard-core skate shop. What’s the new location like? It’s geared toward the foot traffic on Newbury Street. There’s stuff in here that I would wear, that I do wear.

Such as? Well, in particular, a brand of watches called TW Steel that I found overseas. And another watch from Toy Watch with a skull and crossbones, and T-shirts from Upper Playground and Spacecraft.

Would you wear it onstage? To me, it’s definitely more everyday clothing.

Do you think the skater ethic is similar to the ’70s rock ethic? They’re both word-of-mouth, underground-culture-ish but spread quickly. In this world, you have to be cautious about advertising: If skaters think it’s for everybody, they won’t come.

Just like the music world—any hint of selling out, and it’s over. Yeah, once you become a commercial fiasco, the kids stop coming. Like with rock, we have to be sure we’re doing what we’re doing with integrity.

Hank Williams Jr.'s coming out party

Los Angeles Times, CA
November 9, 2007

Hank Williams Jr. gets a kick out of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler’s version of Williams’ signature hit “All My Rowdy Friends (Are Coming Over Tonight)” at the CMT tribute to the country star.
(Stefano Paltera / For The Times)

"All my rowdy friends are coming over tonight," sang Hank Williams Jr. in one of the country superstar's best-known tunes, and that's exactly what happened recently at the Gibson Amphitheatre, where Williams was feted during the taping of "CMT Giants," a two-hour special set to air Saturday [11/17] on the country-music cable channel.

The guest list featured some of Nashville's biggest names, including Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw and Toby Keith. But Kid Rock, Jessica Simpson and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith were also present, underscoring the influence Williams' famously outsized persona has had on rockers and pop stars beyond the reach of Music Row....

"Spent the last couple of days with Steven Tyler who's flown into London for the Classic Rock Awards. Went to dinner at Nobu and he got mobbed on the way out, by various women from about every country.

The Classic Rock Awards were today [11-05-07] and were honouring Jimmy Page. Aerosmith got Best Live Event, presented by Jeff Beck. Steven presented Jimmy and, as Jeff Beck said to me, the good thing about coming is you get to run into everyone you know.... "

Oh, what a night!

Classic Rock Magazine.com
November 6, 2007

The third annual Classic Rock Roll Of Honour, Classic Rock magazine's prestigious awards show, last night honoured one of rock music's most iconic figures, Jimmy Page, with its ultimate accolade: the Living Legend award.

The November 5 ceremony at London’s über-posh Landmark Hotel was awash with rock royalty. The stars and the industry watched on as Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler made a moving tribute to Page before unveiling an extended video of the celebrated guitarist’s life, which included messages from Elvis's guitarist Scotty Moore, guitar legend Les Paul and Jimmy's long-time rock partner Robert Plant.

As Living Legend, Jimmy was presented with a vintage Gibson Les Paul, the guitar Jimmy made famous in the 60s and 70s, signed by Les Paul himself.

In just its third year, the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour has established itself as the award show of choice for rock legends across the globe, attracting a phenomenal list of award winners and guests.

Heaven And Hell, collectively, picked up two awards in the form of Comeback Of The Year for the whole band and the Metal Guru award for guitarist Tony Iommi.

National rock institution Status Quo were honoured as Classic Songwriters, while War Of The Worlds mastermind Jeff Wayne picked up the Showman Award.

In keeping with Classic Rock's commitment to honouring the often-overlooked stars of the rock world, Pink Floyd's Nick Mason took to the stage to honour long-term collaborator and artistic genius Storm Thorgerson with an Outstanding Contribution award, while the late guitarist Mick Ronson was presented, posthumously, with the Tommy Vance Inspiration Award that was collected by his widow Suzi Ronson and daughter Lisa Ronson, and presented by Ian Hunter and Def Leppard's Joe Elliott.

Meat Loaf unfortunately came down with a bout of laryngitis on the eve of the awards. In Meat Loaf’s absence his daughter, Pearl Aday, picked up the Classic Album award for her father’s 1977 epic Bat Out of Hell, which even now sells approximately 200,000 copies a year and is estimated to have exceeded 34 million sales worldwide in total.

In the Classic Rock Readers’ Awards, Kiss picked up the Reissue Of The Year gong for their Alive! 1975-2000 box-set, which was collected by Velvet Revolver/Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan.

Rush were honoured as Band Of The Year.

Aerosmith's appearance at Hyde Park Calling was voted the Event Of The Year, pipping the favourite – Keith Richards snorting his Dad's ashes – to the top spot.

And the Frank Zappa Classic Albums DVD picked up DVD Of The Year and was collected by none other than Alice Cooper.

The winners in full are as follows:

* Best New Band: Black Stone Cherry
* Reissue Of The Year: Kiss - Alive! 1975-2000
* DVD Of The Year: Frank Zappa Classic Albums
* Album Of The Year: Porcupine Tree - Fear Of A Blank Planet
* Band Of The Year: Rush
* Event Of The Year: Aerosmith at Hyde Park Calling
* Classic Songwriters: Status Quo
* Metal Guru: Tony Iommi
* Showman Award: Jeff Wayne
* The Classic Rock/Childline: Ian and Jacky Paice
* Tommy Vance Inspiration: Mick Ronson
* Outstanding Contribution: Storm Thorgerson
* Classic Album: Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell
* Comeback Of The Year: Heaven And Hell
* Living Legend: Jimmy Page

Scott Rowley, Classic Rock’s Editor In Chief, said:

"It's been quite a year for rock music. From the 20 million attempts to get Led Zeppelin tickets to the new album from the Eagles going straight in at No.1 in the album charts this week, 2007 has proved that fashions can come and go, but rock music co
