"Aerosmith - (Dec. 11, Saddledome) - With Steven Tyler fresh from throat surgery and the band getting up in years, one had to wonder if Aerosmith could still deliver like the arena rock animals they're supposed to be. They can, and they did, playing a stripped down, back-to-the-basics show heavy on their blues-based roots rather than the lame radio-ready ballads they cranked out in the '90s. Aerosmith's greatness was highlighted by how decisively they thumped Motley Crue, with whom they were sharing the bill."

"The performance by Aerosmith at the Reno Events Center on Dec. 15 was strong evidence that the northern Nevada area is no longer your father's casino town. It is now on the circuit for some of the country's biggest tours (both the Who and Rod Stewart arrive early next year), and the events center has learned to accommodate them. The high-tech Aerosmith concert went off without a glitch, and the sold-out crowd was as ecstatic as the band was electrifying. It was easily the concert of the year.
