....Madonna was the subject of the most recent searches for 1980s musical acts on Yahoo!, according to Yahoo! Buzz, which bases its report on more than 116 million uses of the computer search engine in the United States each month. The top five ’80s musical acts that were the basis of Yahoo! searches also included Michael Jackson, U2, Aerosmith and Def Leppard.
The people from Yahoo! decided to compile the statistics because of what it claimed was an increase in interest in the pop culture of the ’80s because of the release this weekend of the movie "Miami Vice," which was inspired by a 1980s television show by the same name....
