...Award-Winning music journalist Steven Rosen has been writing about, and interviewing icons of rock ‘n’ roll for the past thirty-five years. After almost 4 decades of archiving these priceless tapes, Rosen has finally licensed them to be released as spoken word CDs.
I have had many offers over the years”, said Rosen “but when I was recently approached by award-winning producer/guitarist Marino De Silva, President of Cohn-De Silva Entertainment, it sounds clichéd, but I just knew this was the right time and the right team”. De Silva, a native of England, approached old friend Ruth McCartney, step-sister of Sir Paul, for distribution and online promotion.
Ruth is CEO of iFanz Records which was co-founded with her husband, "iConz of Rock" series producer Martin Nethercutt. iFanz Records is a digital label which releases its product through the world’s major distribution platforms, iTunes™, AOL MusicNet, Napster and Yahoo! Music.
The first 2 releases in the "iConz of Rock" interview series feature over one hour each of never-before-heard intimate conversations with Carlos Santana and Jimmy Page. The product is now available worldwide exclusively on iTunes with other major services and in-store channels being added at press time. The CD-length download is available for $9.99 US to any Mac or PC user with the free iTunes software.
“Having grown up with John Lennon as a weekend guest, Rod Stewart popping in for tea and a whole host of other now “legendary” folk hanging out at our house, this seemed like a natural fit for the label,” said Ruth McCartney at the company’s HQ in the Southern California beach town of Playa del Rey. Added Nethercutt, “Re-mastering, cleaning and restoring these priceless moments in rock history has been a labor of love, and it’s been great spending time listening to my childhood heroes talking candidly about their lives at that moment in time.”
Executive Producer Marino De Silva is currently finalizing the next releases in the series which will feature Eddie Van Halen, David Gilmour, George Harrison, Steven Tyler, Pete Townsend, Ginger Baker, Robert Plant, Frank Zappa, Keith Moon, Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson, and many more....
