...Another highlight is Aerosmith's Steven Tyler's take on Charlie Chaplin's "Smile." The song is stripped of any optimism and performed in a painfully personal manner.
"I called Steven to see if he would be interested in doing that song this way, a dark version of it," Botti recalls. "He was getting on an amusement park ride with his family and I said, 'Steven, would you be interested in doing this?' and he said, 'Yeah, man, sounds great. Let's do it!' I never thought that it would actually happen that way. He really rose to the occasion and he sounds great doing it...."

What was it like working with Steven Tyler?
We’re radically from different genres [but] he’s so enthusiastic about music. He was so taken aback when I asked him to do that song in that particular setting with the London Orchestra. He was so into it, man! I knew he’d be good but I didn’t know he’d be that good....
