From Aerosmith to Neil Young

Just like all you headbangers out there, the Smoking Section was bummed to learn that Aerosmith were forced to shut down their 2006 tour -- and even more upset to learn that it was because Steven Tyler had to undergo throat surgery. Would one of rock's greatest voices -- the guy who delivered to us "Dream On," "Lord of the Thighs," "Back in the Saddle" and "Cheney's Got a Gun" -- be silenced forever? Could the rumblings about throat cancer be true? Since he's on the doc's orders not to talk, how could we even ask him? E-mail! "I've got good news and bad news," Tyler wrote back. "The good: They zapped a broken blood vessel in my voice box and it's healed. The bad: I gotta shut up. No talking for a month. Help! That's impossible! Don't they know I'm Italian?!" Also -- to further cheer you up -- Tyler promises the band will return to the road later this year. Yessss! Get well, Stevie, baby! We love ya!
