Jack Douglas - 'The Trews' April 18th Release

Glide Magazine, MA
March 31, 2006

Having conquered their native country of Canada with two Gold albums and six “Top 10” singles (including two #1 singles at rock radio), The Trews are ready to take on the U.S. with the April 18th release of Den of Thieves through Red Strategic Marketing (RSM)/Sony BMG.... Den Of Thieves was recorded with Grammy award-winning producer Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, John Lennon, The New York Dolls). Douglas encouraged a conscious effort to present many musical influences on their sophomore album. The songs that comprise Den of Thieves include an eclectic mix of their trademark heavy hitting rock sound mixed with melodic undertones evidenced by the use of horns, strings, harmonica and even banjo. So far, the critics are eating it up....

Den of Thieves is a fantastic rock record. The first track, "Fire Up Ahead", sounds like it was very influenced by Toys In The Attic. And The Trews are just as good live as they are on disc. Finally, a new band that reminds us of how all those old bands did it.
