On Monday night, the disparate worlds of a hands-on maritime education and fine dining in Norwell, will come together at one event - and under one large tent - at Mt. Blue Restaurant's ninth annual summer garden party....Jayne Bowe, who owns Mt. Blue with four partners - Steven Tyler and Joe Perry from the rock band Aerosmith as well as Lee Kennedy and Rod Walkey - said the goal for the night is to raise at least $30,000 for the school and its programs....

A few tickets are still available to the 9th annual Mount Blue Summer Party and Auction. The event is expected to be sold out and reservations must be made and $50 per person paid in advance. Three live bands including the Joe Leary Band, the Chris Fitz Band and Ryan Fardy Shades of Blue will entertain guests under the tent at the Mount Blue Restaurant on Route 53 in Norwell. More than 600 people are expected to attend the garden night party with samplings of food, wine, beer and spirits from generous vendors of the Mount Blue. The fun begins at 6 p.m. on Monday night, July 25, with a silent auction of 100 unique treasures and unusual items, and a live auction at 8:30 p.m. featuring an Aerosmith electronic guitar signed by the band, four tickets to the sold out Rolling Stones concert in Fenway Park and an Eastern Mountain Sports kayaking packaging and lessons. Proceeds from the auction benefit the Duxbury Bay Maritime School's programs for disadvantaged children attending Crossroads for Kids' Camp Wing, Maritime Adventures and ACCESSAIL, a program for sailors of all ages with disabilities.
