Aerosmith Poster Takes Center Stage in Evernham, Charity Chopper Fundraiser

Charlotte Observer, NC
July 29, 2005

Ray Evernham, President and CEO of Evernham Motorsports, is more familiar with checkered flags than platinum records, but this week he will send music fans racing to bid on a new eBay auction to benefit the Charity Chopper Fundraiser, helping to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

This week's item, the fourth in a series of six special eBay auctions, is a framed poster of an Aerosmith-themed custom chopper built by Dave Perewitz of Perewitz Cycle Fab. The poster is autographed by all five Aerosmith band members, including Steven Tyler, Brad Whitford, Joe Perry, Joey Kramer and Tom Hamilton.

Aerosmith fans will love the close-ups of artist Keith Hanson's airbrushed portraits of the individual band members painted on different sections of the chopper. The poster is professionally mounted in a black wood with a low-glare UV protective, archival-quality glass and metal hanging hardware. The approximate size of the framed poster is 41"w x 24.75"h. Bidding on this weeklong auction will begin Saturday, July 30th at 9 p.m. ET

The eBay auction of this item is part of the Charity Chopper Fundraiser (www.ebay.com/charitychopper), a fundraising effort sponsored by Evernham, Perewitz, and PPG Automotive Refinish. From April through October, eBay will feature multiple one-of-a-kind items with proceeds benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

New highly-prized collectibles will be introduced in charity auctions on the 30th of each month, culminating in September with the charity auction of the spectacular Charity Chopper, an awesome, one-of-a-kind custom motorcycle built by Dave Perewitz, one of the nation's foremost bike builders

100 percent of proceeds from the sales of these collectible items will go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.leukemia-lymphoma.org) and its ongoing efforts to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

"The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has been incredibly important to me and my family, and I'm committed to finding new and unique ways to help raise funds for the important work they do," Evernham said.

"An old proverb says that each great journey begins with a single step. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has made a great impact on millions of lives, and it will continue to do so with the support of contributions made by each and every one of us. Whether large or small, each donation gets us one step closer to finding a cure for those in need."
