The Gang's All Here

Tinseltown is still bullish on "The Bull Gang," the sitcom based on the working grunts at the FleetCenter, but getting the project off the ground has been a real bear! "We continue to make progress," said arena skipper Rich Krezwick, who met with creator Alex Finkelstein and producer Jeffrey Kramer on Martha's Vineyard last weekend. "But there have been a few setbacks." The series, according to Alex, is like "Cheers" meets "Taxi," a workplace comedy that would draw on the Celts, Bruins, the circus, ice shows and rock concerts for their weekly yuks. Fox Entertainment snapped up the sitcom last fall, but as the months wore on, the network not only lost its president (Gail Berman) and gained a new one (Peter Ligouri), but the "Gang's" head writer was diagnosed with cancer. "That slowed the project down, but there will be some decisions made soon and our target (for filming at the FleetCenter) is still the fall," he said. In the meantime, Krezwick and Alex have been pitching national advertisers on the idea. Because, really, wouldn't the Budweiser delivery guy be a great recurring character??? "We've also got some requests out for a couple of high-profile Boston people to do walk-ons," the arena ace told the Track.
Well, we know Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler doesn't shy away from the camera and homeys-gone-Hollywood Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Donnie Wahlberg are HUGE sports fans. So do stay tuned. . . .
