Their CDs fly off the shelves. But when it comes to concerts, urban artists aren't a hot sell.

A December show featuring Ja Rule and Ciara sold so poorly that it was downgraded from the Peoria Civic Center's 10,000-plus seat Carver Arena to one of the facility's exhibition halls. And Snoop's August arena concert suffered such paltry sales that it was canceled all together....."
".....rock 'n' roll or country acts like Aerosmith, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney and the Eagles easily lured nearly 10,000 into the arena. 'It's always been a blue-collar, rock 'n' roll market. Blue-collar rock 'n' roll and country,' Marc Burnett, director of marketing for the Civic Center, said of Peoria....."
