Aerosmith "You Gotta Move" DVD Review
Rock N Roll Universe
Review By Frank Waltman
"You Gotta Move is Aerosmith's first ever live DVD. Originally aired on A&E television. You Gotta Move has been released with five new songs not shown on the original TV broadcast. Also included is a cool thirty minute documentary on the making of their 2004 release Honkin' On Bobo. Plus a six song live cd recorded on this years Honkin' On Bobo tour. Okay now that you know what the DVD is all about.
Let's get to the 'Real Nitty Gritty' - You Gotta Move sounds fantastic. So good you feel like you're in the crowd at the concert. The song selection here covers the band's long thirty year history. Toys In The Attic, Love In An Elevator, Cryin', The Other Side, I Don't Want To Miss A Thing and Walk This Way are some of the twenty one songs on here. If you've ever got to see any old footage of Aerosmith in the 70's or were able to see them live back then. You'll watch YGM and see that this is a band that is definitely drug free and rocking harder and BETTER than ever. YGM is interlaced with commentary throughout that gives some insights as to how the band got to where they are now. And proceeds to show a band that truly enjoys themselves more now than anytime in their whole career. My one complaint with YGM is the editing of the show. Yes they used a lot of cameras to film it. But do they have to prove that to us by not staying put on anyone for more than five seconds? Iron Maiden's Rock In Rio DVD comes to mind here....."
